Superintendent Dr. Lawrence Kofi Acheampong is a distinguished forensic security expert and medical professional with a comprehensive background in both medicine and forensic science. He currently serves as the President of the African Correctional Healthcare Professionals Network (ACHN), where he leads initiatives to enhance healthcare standards within correctional facilities across Africa.

Dr. Acheampong holds several prestigious qualifications, including a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB, ChB), a Master of Philosophy in General Forensics (MPhil), a Master of Business Administration in Health Management (MBA), and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology (BSc). He is also a PhD candidate specializing in Forensics and Chemical Pathology, and he has earned a Diploma in Forensic and Legal Medicine from the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians (FFLM-UK).

His expertise is recognized internationally, as evidenced by his membership in numerous esteemed organizations. These include the Faculty of Forensics and Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians (MFFLM-UK), the African Society of Forensic Medicine, the American College of Correctional Physicians (ACCP), the International Academy for Certified Disaster & Emergency, Criminology and Forensic Professionals (IACDECFP-UK), and the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (IICFIP-USA).

In his professional capacity, Dr. Acheampong practices as a Forensic Physician and Intelligence Security Expert at the largest prison in Ghana, where he serves as the Forensic Correctional Physician. His role is further enriched by his training as a Counterterrorism Rescue and Response Medic, which has equipped him with specialized skills to address complex security and medical challenges within correctional environments.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Acheampong has been instrumental in facilitating courses and developing curricula for forensic training programs worldwide. He is also an accomplished author, having written books on forensic science and published numerous papers in reputed journals. Additionally, he serves as the Medical Director of the Ghana Prisons Service, where he oversees the healthcare of incarcerated individuals, ensuring that they receive appropriate medical attention and forensic care.
